What is the Almeida Racing League?

The Almeida Racing League is a new competitive series built to combine fairness, excitement, and competitiveness. The league is designed to deliver close racing with tailor-made splits and, using Suellio’s coaching philosophies, provide the very best learning experience for drivers.

Multi-Car, Multi-Tier Competition

We’re running a split-based format to match you with drivers of your skill level, so you won’t need to worry about being outclassed or stuck in traffic anytime soon!

Top Split: Formula 3 cars — for the drivers further along in their development journey
Other Splits: BMW M2 CS Racing — for side-by-side action and cleaner learning

This format ensures every race has tight, meaningful battles up and down the grid.

Pre-Qualifying Format: Earn Your Grid Spot

To ensure fair and balanced splits, we will be running open pre-qualifying sessions in the BMW M2 CS Racing car across the week before racing begins. The track you’ll be driving in is Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, testing you with tight corners, minimal grip, and little margin for error. Split assignment depends on your times, so don’t leave it to the last minute!

Here’s how it works:

21 sessions total: 3 sessions/day across 7 days
Open entry: Join as many sessions as you’d like
4 flying laps per session
30 minutes free practice session beforehand
Best 3 laps averaged to set your session time
Improvement counts: Your best session result (fastest 3-lap average) across the week becomes your official pre-qualifying time

This structure rewards consistency, practice, and pace, while giving everyone plenty of chances to set their best time.

In order to set your laps for Pre-Qualifying, firstly, you sign up to the Almeida Racing League Pre-Qualifying, inputting your Name, Email, iRacing ID and Discord into the application form.

You will then be verified as an ARA member and invited into the Pre-Qualifying on iRacing. And from there, you can join one of the 21 hosted sessions, and get your laps in!

Race Format & Calendar

The racing kicks off in Week 2 of the iRacing season and will run through Week 8, following the official calendar for the Dallara F3 Series & BMW M2 CS Racing Series on iRacing.

Race Format:

Open Practice: 1 Hour
Open Qualifying: 15 Minutes
Heat 1: 15 Minutes
Heat 2: 15 Minutes
Feature Race: 20 minutes

Special Race Format (Top Split Only – Week 2 & 7):

Open Practice: 1 Hour
Open Qualifying: 15 Minutes
Heat 1: 15 Minutes
Feature Race: 40 Minutes (With a pitstop for fuel)

Round 1 – Circuit de Gilles-Villeneuve
Round 2 – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (GP Pits)*
Round 3 – Sebring International Circuit (International Layout)
Round 4 – Fuji International Speedway (No Chicane)
Round 5 – Algarve International Circuit (GP)
Round 6 – Circuit Zandvoort (GP)
Round 7 – Road America (Full Course)*

*These rounds follow the Special Race Format for Split 1 only
